His radio program The Contrarians ran as a summer replacement series on CBC Radio One. His satirical column The Experiment ran for two years in Saturday Night Magazine and won a National Magazine Award for Humor. Jesse Brown broke into media at the age of 17 by founding a city-wide underground student newspaper. He was honored by Ryerson University with their Udo award, “for noteworthy contributions to the field of Journalism.” He remains the youngest recipient in the award’s history. Since graduating from McGill University he has written for many publications, including the Globe and Mail, the National Post and Vice Magazine. His documentaries and cartoons have screened on national television and in many film festivals, including the New York Underground Film Festival, the Ottawa International Animation Festival, the World Film Festival and the Just For Laughs Festival. According to a recent reality television program, Jesse Brown is the 121st Greatest Canadian of all time.
